Sunday Concerts: PUBLIQuartet

Seabury Academy is delighted to welcome back the highly acclaimed string quartet PUBLIQuartet, longtime friends of Seabury and St. Paul’s on the Green, for an amazing new program featuring PQ’s signature blend of innovation and inspiration.

PQ has this to say about the program:

We are ecstatic to share with you our original program Freedom and Faith, which we premiered in February 2018 in Washington DC presented by the Washington Performing Arts. Since then, we’ve officially recorded this program as our second album on Bright Shiny Things label. This music explores themes of spirituality, awakening, and inspiration by composers Jessica Meyer, Shelley Washington, Hildegard von Bingen, Nina Simone and more. In true PQ style, we will delve into a sound world uniquely our own. You’ll hear jazz, bluegrass, tango, Gregorian chant…even whistles! Unfortunately, women’s voices are not equally represented and neither are composers of color, and we’re doing our best to give better representation. Come celebrate our original program and 2nd album Freedom and Faith with your friends, family, children, and us as we proudly present music by these courageous, resilient, passionate, and intelligent voices.
