7:00pm — Theology Tuesdays: What’s in the Bible?

July 11, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until July 25, 2017

A series this summer offers the chance to delve deeper into several topics related to the Church you may be curious about. Join others on Tuesdays at 7:00pm  in the Guild Room to glean insights from three informative and enriching books — and from each other. All are welcome — whatever your level of knowledge and whatever you believe (or don’t). Reading the book is helpful, but not required. Refreshments will be served. For more information, Email the Reverend Peter Thompson, Assistant Rector. Books are available in advance from the Parish Office (203 947-2806) or your favorite book source.

JULY: What’s in the Bible? How an Ancient Library of Poems, Letters, and Stories Can Transform the Way You Think and Feel About Everything
by Rob Bell

Bestselling author Rob Bell was once at the center of American evangelicalism, but his liberal ideas have made him more controversial in recent years. In discussing his latest book about the Bible, you can explore how the Bible can be both powerfully moving and incredibly complicated.

July 11: Part 1 (There’s Something More Going on Here)
July 18: Part 2 (The Nature of that Something) & Part 3 (Where That Something Takes Us)
