5:00 PM – Blessing of the Animals

| Each year we remember St. Francis of Assisi and his love for God’s creation with a Blessing of the Animals liturgy on the Chittim-Howell House Lawn. Bring all your favorite animals to this year’s brief service at 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 6. Children and their families are invited to bring their pets along to a children’s service in the Lady Chapel on the Labyrinth at 4:00 pm before heading to the main Blessing of the Animals. The children’s service, centered around the theme of God’s creation, will include art projects, an opportunity for kids to introduce their pets to the rest of the congregation, a celebration of the Eucharist, and snack time with animal crackers. |
