Holding Power in Storytelling
We celebrate Black History Month in an effort to better understand the many contributions African Americans have made to America. In doing so we will discuss the importance of “telling it like it is” – why slaves spoke about their joys and their struggles – their voice was the only power they possessed. On Sunday, February 25th, during our Adult Forum, Join Nikkya Hargrove, parishioner & author as she leads a forum to talk about the power of storytelling, of truth telling, and the power we all have within us when we use our words.
During the Adult Forum, The Reverend Dinushka De Silva, will welcome children ages 5 and up, to their own storytelling experience with an activity.
