Adult Education

For in depth information on our Adult Education opportunities download an Adult Forum Brochure – Fall 2017 regular or pick one up in the Welcome Center. (You’ll also find information about Theology Tuesdays, Race & Social Justice on Wednesdays and St. Paul’s Faith in a New Millenium series)

At St. Paul’s, we understand that “walking the walk” is a lifelong journey of exploration and discovery. Worship lies at the core of feeding and supporting us in that journey. Additionally, the opportunity to learn and share in a supportive, prayerful environment with the companionship and guidance of one another is a critical component. The centerpiece of St. Paul’s Adult Education is the Sunday morning series, augmented by seasonal retreats, bible discussions, book studies and an exploration of Christianity leading to Adult Confirmation or Reception in the Episcopal Church. We hope you’ll find something to whet your curiosity and journey in faith.  For further information on any of the opportunities listed here, please contact the Reverend Peter ThompsonAssistant Rector.

Sunday Adult Forum Series
Held weekly between morning worship, the Adult Forum series convenes at 10:10am on Sundays in the St. Hilda Room.  The focus of the Fall 2017 series is God in the Arts: Encountering the Sacred through the Gift of Imagination and features staff and outside speakers involved in a wide array of venues.  The 30 – 40 minutes sessions are designed to offer some brief overview and presentation of each topic and followed with lively discussion among those in attendance.

Theology Tuesdays
On Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, delve deeper into a theological topic in gatherings based on a recent book and led by Assistant Rector Peter Thompson. Reading the book in advance is helpful, but not required. Sessions are held in the Guild Room.

Race & Social Justice
Now entering its second program year, the Race and Social Justice group has now been engaged in significant and timely discussions about the role of race in our society for quite some time. All are welcome to join the group as it engages in difficult but necessary dialogue around this most relevant of topics each Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Guild Room.

Theology on Tap
The Young Adults of St. Paul’s gather at Sedona Taphouse in the Norwalk Waypointe district. Sedona offers 500 varieties of craft beers as well as cocktails, wine, non-alcoholic options and food. Each gathering features a casual conversation about a theological topic as well as time to get to know one another better. The first beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) is always on St. Paul’s.  For further information, please contact the Reverend Peter ThompsonAssistant Rector.

Mini-Retreat Days
Held at or near the start of Advent and Lent, half-day retreats invite participants into some space in which to reflect in community on themes of the seasons. Guest retreat leaders will be announced as each season approaches.
