A Day of Remembrance and Celebration

On Sunday, January 14, the community of St. Paul’s on the Green commemorated the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Rev. Canon Harlon Dalton, Interim Canon for Mission Advocacy, Racial Justice, and Reconciliation was on hand to preach at both services. You can watch the full service with this LINK and read his full message HERE. Rev. Dalton also led a fascinating FORUM about how the Episcopal Church in CT is addressing racial healing and reconciliation.

Later that day a group of parishioners from St. Paul’s joined Rev. Dalton and folks from all over the state of Connecticut at a special Observance of the 175th Anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery in CT. The service leaflet can be found at THIS LINK and you can watch the  service HERE

Gail Bindley Taylor, parishioner at St. Paul’s and member of the ECCT Racial Healing, Justice and Reconciliation Ministry Network worked with many others to host this service of prayer, meditation and music designed to lament our past, pray for healing and reconciliation and commit to and celebrate a plan for change.
