|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until April 11, 2017

The Apostle Paul
Who was the apostle Paul? Misogynist? Liberator? Founder of Christianity? Distorter of Jesus’ message? However we think of him, we cannot deny that, after Jesus, he has been the most influential person in Christian history. Join in this Lenten class beginning March 7. The Reverend Helen Durany, Deacon & Seminarian is leading a class that considers Paul’s life and teaching. Scholarly opinions on Paul are included and participants will read some key texts to explore the main themes of his letters. If time permits, join in Evening Prayer at 6:00pm before the forum. The forum meets in the Guild Room.

March 7 — Introduction to Paul’s life and letters
March 14 — No Forum
March 21 — Grace and Sin, the human person
March 28 — Jesus, the divine human
April 4 — Ethics
April 11 — The Church
