Learning for Action - Responding to Immigration Issues
The community of St. Paul's hosted its first training session on how to engage in peaceful and effective action in support of those being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in late August. Speakers from local organizations working for immigrant rights presented information and resources and participants were able to join a listening & learning session that articulates the moral foundation for our actions and the stated position of the Episcopal Church.
The Immigration Action Team has also hosted Marshal training sessions to help organizers facilitate a rally, insuring it runs safely and maintains its intended message, and uses tools of peacemaking as resistance.
