The group meets each Wednesday via Zoom on Currently reading Heather McGhee’s book The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together. The focus of conversation tonight (July 21) is Chapter 5. Ms. McGhee’s style weaves together real-life story with well-documented statistics and figures to provide an engaging and compelling narrative of the costs of racism to all people.

 

Race & Social Justice continues to be active and in close contact with the Norwalk Speaks! initiative and urges those who live in Norwalk to participate in their community listening sessions and to download their app. Stay tuned, as well, for further conversations between Race & Social Justice and Led By Us (the consultants overseeing the Norwalk Speaks! activity) as Led By Us circles back for another meeting and continued dialogue.
