Merger Exploration Update
I’m writing to share an update on the progress of the merger exploration between St. Paul’s on the Green and Christ Church, East Norwalk.
Several members and leaders at Christ Church are currently navigating recovery from major illness and other pressing personal matters. In light of this, they have requested a pause in the exploration process and committee work until they are able to give it their full attention. I wholeheartedly support their instinct to prioritize health and well-being, and I assured them that we stand with them in this decision and are ready to support them in any way we can.
They said they deeply value the growing relationship between our two communities. I share their hope that this time of pause will deepen, rather than delay, the bonds we are building.
Practically speaking, this means that the formal committee work will be on hold for now. In the meantime, we will be continuing to build relationships with Christ Church through sharing in volunteer opportunities and service ministries, and attending each other’s special events. Thanks to Val Cadman and Lindsay Kennedy for leading a team to facilitate this. If you would like to help in this relationship-building stage, please speak with them or with me.
As always, if you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. This is important work of discovery and discernment that will take the time it needs. God is drawing us all into this wider circle of belonging and care.
Yours on the journey to Easter,
Daniel +
