7:00pm – Faith in a New Millenium Series

November 21, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What’s the T in LGBT? A Conversation with Rebecca Klingrebecca-kling

Discussing transgender identity often raises more questions than answers. What does it mean to be transgender? How should transgender people be integrated into our communities? Are popular-culture depictions of transgender people—like those in Transparent, I Am Cait, and Orange is the New Black—helpful or harmful to the trans community?

Join Rebecca Kling, the Community Storytelling Advocate at the National Center for Transgender Equality, as she helps address these questions, discusses her own story as an out transgender activist and performance artist, and takes questions from the audience. Come ready to listen, as well as with any question you might have about what it means to be transgender.

Hors d’oeurves and non-alcoholic beverages will be served, and admission is free. All are welcome to participate fully, regardless of faith tradition or lack thereof.Let us know of your interest or RSVP that you’ll be attending through our Facebook event page.
